From far away, I caught her glimpse
And suddenly felt my heart wince
Years evaporated before my eyes
I could not believe-how time flies!
I saw her approaching towards me
A faint smile on her lips, I could see
The place was the same, so were we
And yet, so much distance
Seperated her from me
I remember those days
Those carefree and joyful ways
How we used to roam about
Aimless, having fun, day in day out
Happy days are not for ever
And it was evident
When we were no longer together
She had her own life
I had my own
Memories of the past, were now gone
Suddenly, she was very near
I didnt know what would i say
Or what would i hear
Stepping towards her, I realized
That the smile was not for me
But for someone behind
When she went past me
I knew that it was the end
I had only tried,
After all only a few years ago
She was my best friend!
